Handcrafted Saddlery by Richard Foster

I got my start building and repairing saddles more than 20 years ago. As an experienced working ranch cowboy, I understand how hard gear gets used so I strive to turn out a product that can stand up to the task. I’ve been in business for 5 years.

I learned by reverse engineering saddles that needed repairs. Although I am self-taught, I also got helpful tips and pointers from other saddle makers along the way.

My specialty is making quality saddles and tack tough enough for working ranch cowboys and cowgirls. The tree is the foundation of the saddle. I use Timberline trees, which have a 5 year guarantee. All pieces are hand cut from premium leathers, then skived and molded for a smooth fit that is comfortable for you and your horse. All tooling is done by hand. Base price: $3500.00

Chaps are another specialty. Each pair is custom made to order to fit the customer based on measurements provided. These can be crafted from a variety of leathers, colors, and styles. Extras can also be incorporated, such as a pocket. Chaps start at $350.00.

Other items I make include breast collars, saddlebags, bridles, tapaderos, hobbles, rifle scabbards, knife holders, cell phone holders, and more. I even made a custom bridal bouquet holder.

Repairs: I can give you a quote for repairs such as replacing sheepskins.
